2013

The Beginning

Barry had been in the Automation industry for eleven years employed by other companies that weren’t fully dedicated and passionate to the constant evolving technology that Automation has become. Barry believed he could take his expertise to the next level and built a home office extension on the back of his Garage and here Matrix Automation was born. The name “Matrix” was chosen as it was aligned with the symmetries taken from the movie “The Matrix” whereas it was based on a future of impossible tasks becoming reality.

2015

Growth

Nick was already engaged as the company accountant through his own practice. As a result of his relationship with Barry it was realised that Nick had other attributes that Matrix could benefit from to help grow the brand and support the constant requirement to increase staff levels, Nick and Barry Partnered up to co-own the company.

2017

Automation Boom

Matrix had outgrown the home office and moved in to a shared commercial space, The company turnover had doubled that of the year before. The Matrix Brand had become a well-known brand and the company vehicles were upgraded to a late model fleet.

2019

Nationwide Coverage

Although Matrix had periodically travelled the country from Auckland to Invercargill, Matrix found its itself continuously travelling to Otago and Southern Lakes district. Matrix now has permanent staff in Queenstown with the focus on high end homes, Large commercial buildings and Hotels in that region.
